RESIGNATION OF BILL DAVOREN
I am writing this email to advise you that I have tendered my resignation as National Performance Director to Triathlon Australia as of Friday 7 November.
I have accepted a position with AFL club, Western Bulldogs, as Head of their Physical Conditioning Program. I will be leaving shortly to set up in Melbourne and Louise and Tom will join me sometime in the new year.
Firstly let me say, Thank You to all of you for allowing me to be a part of your lives over the years. I recognise the "part" varies from individual to individual. It has been a privelege to be involved with the sport of Triathlon, and I leave very proud of our collective achievements and with many outstanding memories.
Special Thanks to Karen, Anne, Loges and Jackie Fairweather. Loyalty and unselfish dedication are rare commodities in the world today, and you have all contributed significantly to the Program and been "rocks" of support to me personally..
I also leave with no apologies to anyone for the way I have done my job. I was given a task to do and I did that task. I recognise that some of you may have found that challenging, but change nor striving to be the best is ever easy.
I wish everyone the best for their futures, whether it be as athlete, coach, sports science/medicine or administrator. You are all involved in a great sport. It is not an easy one and will only get harder, faster and more difficult to podium in the coming years. I implore all of you to continue to strive to get better at what you do, whether it be racing, coaching, sports science/medicine or administration.
Above all, always remember, that Australian Triathlon exists to win medals!
